AA Championship for Night Rider Clayton girls

Clayton Night Riders girls rugby team had every reason to be jubilant after grabbing the Senior Girls AA Rugby Fraser Valley Championship in a 17 to 5 win over defending champions, Robert Bateman, last Thursday.

“This is the first time in our school’s young 10-year history that we’ve won this title,” said coach Glen Sandve. “The entire team played a great defensive game, and worked extremely hard to beat a tough Robert Bateman side.”

Michelle Gjuricic, Alannah Blouin-Summers, and Alex Minchella scored for Clayton Night Riders.

“Michelle Manning had a huge game and kicked a two-point convert,” reports Sandve.

The girls are heading for the B.C. Championships in Williams Lake May 20 to May 23. Go Clayton! Go! Keep up that winning streak.
