Re: Riders flock to bike park, Sept. 18

Please inform your readers that my son always wears his helmet when riding.

But unfortunately he fell that day at the bike park and his helmet broke.

I did not know this at the time and nor did I know that his picture was going to be taken.

So for the gentleman and little 5-year-old wanting to know why he was not wearing a helmet this is why.

He is not a bad role model for the kids. He is a volunteer at the Cloverdale Rec Centre and helps out with a lot of youth and kid’s programs.

If I had known his picture was to be taken and that he had broken his helmet I would have made sure to have bought another for him and made sure he was wearing it.

Please don’t pass judgement on someone you don’t even know.
