Firefighters spent hours Wednesday at the scene of a barn fire in Cloverdale that contained a suspected grow op.
The fire began sometime before 10:15 a.m., heavily damaging a main barn structure and involving some attached sheds at a property in the 8100-block of 176 St.
Fire crews were expected to remain on scene for some time, deputy chief Jon Caviglia said.
Part of the roof has collapsed, making it hard to reach lingering hot spots beneath metal cladding.
RCMP were called after fire fighters discovered a grow op inside the barn, he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
