B.C.'s number-one seniors' entertainment troupe goes for gold at the Surrey Arts Centre next Saturday night.
In keeping with the building excitement over the 2010 Olympics, the Vaudevillians present a sports-themed fundraising performance, "Go for Gold."
The show blends song, dance and humour in the traditional vaudeville style.
The Vaudevillians are a volunteer group of 30 seniors aged 63 to 88 who rehearse 10 months of the year, performing throughout the Lower Mainland.
Each year, deserving performing arts students at Douglas College receive bursaries from an endowment established in 2004. The fund is currently in excess of $50,000 and the goal i s to continue to build and support young people in the arts.
There is an afternoon matinee at 2 p.m. and an evening performance at 7:30 p.m. p.m. Tickets available through the Surrey Arts Centre Box Office.
