Camera club in focus

Noted international photographer, Wendell Phillips, will be guest speaker at Crescent Beach Photography Club’s first meeting of the season on September 9 at Camp Alexandra, 2916 McBride Avenue, Crescent Beach, Surrey. Doors open at 7:30pm.
Club spokesman Lynne Kelman, is delighted with such a high profile start to the year.
Phillips began his career as a staff news photographer in 1981. He went on to win a variety of prestigious awards across North America. He now makes his living with international agencies such as the United Nations and the Canadian Red Cross.
Kelman herself was a professional photographer prior to devoting herself to family life. .
Now retired, she and husband, Ron, have the time to devote the photographic art they both enjoy.
“We are both get very competitive!” she confesses. “But is fun having a common interest.”
The club, she says, is known to be very friendly. Competition information is shared and inforTips and information are freely shared. “There is always something new to learn and share.”
Crescent Beach Photography Club meets every other Wednesday of each month starting with meetings on September 9 and 23.
