Housing prices rise

Greater Vancouver real estate prices rose again in October.

The benchmark price of a single detached house climbed about one per cent from September to $749,800, according to the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver.

That's up 7.7 per cent from one year ago.

The benchmark price of detached houses in Cloverdale rose 0.3 per cent in October to $524,600. That's up 7.1 per cent but down 1.6 per cent from October of 2008.

Over a longer time frame, Cloverdale house prices are currently up 12.2 per cent from three years ago and 45 per cent from five years ago.
