Aldergrove skaters skate their best

Two Aldergrove Skating Club skaters performed well in competition at the B.C. Coast Regional Championships in Chilliwack's Prospera Centre on October 22-25.

Shane Garland with his partner Dale Kilgour from the Connaught Skating Club had a strong skate to place second after their compulsory dances on Saturday. They returned on Sunday to skate an impressive free dance, holding onto their silver medal.

The duo will now be preparing for the 2010 Bank of Montreal SKate Canada BC/YT Sectional Championships on November 11-15 in Richmond.

Also on Sunday, Natasha Woods, one of Aldergrove's senior skaters, had a near perfect program to finish fourth out of a field of 15 skaters.

Natasha and several of the Aldergrove skaters will now be preparing for the next competition being held in White Rock on November 27-29, the Jingle Blades competition.
