Natasha Woods of the Aldergrove Skating Club achieved her first Gold level test on August 8 at the Arbutus Winter Club.
Natasha has been skating for eight years and has put in many hours of practice to perfect the many turns and edges required in the Gold Skills test. She is also working towards her Gold dances having attained two of the four dances required for this medal.
Natasha is a Grade 11 student at Aldergrove Community Secondary School, who also works part time at Tim Horton’s.
She is also a volunteer with the Aldergrove Skating Club, helping with the learn to skate program and giving back to the club she has grown up in.
She was also chosen from many applicants to work at the 2010 Olympics as a skate patcher. Natasha also worked at the ISU Four Continents competition that was held in Vancouver in February 2009, as part of her training for the Olympics. She is looking forward to this wonderful experience.
