Local skaters off to Ottawa

Two Aldergrove figure skaters are headed to Ottawa and Lake Placid, New York this week. Shane Garland, who lives in Aldergrove and competes with the Aldergrove Skating Club, and his dance partner Dale Kilgour, who lives in Aldergrove and competes with the Langley Skating Club, will be flying to Ottawa today to prepare for the Minto Summer Skate tournament. They’ll compete in the Juvenile Compulsory Dance Friday and the Juvenile Free Dance Saturday. Next weekend, they’ll head to Lake Placid for the ice dance championships where they’ll compete in the juvenile 14-step and the juvenile free dance.
