The City of Abbotsford has organized two meetings to gauge opinion on its plans to pinpoint specific areas for possible future gravel pits.
The city is considering restricting gravel pits to certain designated areas in the southwest of Abbotsford, on parts of Sumas Mountain, and in Barrowtown.
The meeting focusing on southwest Abbotsford will be held on Sept. 16, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Abbotsford Traditional Secondary School, 2272 Windsor St.
Sumas Mountain and Barrowtown will be the focus of a meeting on Sept. 24, between the same times, in New Life Christian Reformed Church, 35270 Delair Rd.
