Border Patrol agents from the Blaine sector seized 12 duffle bags containing 577 pounds of “BC Bud” marijuana while patrolling the border near Maple Falls, Washington.

“BC Bud” is a type of potent marijuana grown in British Columbia.

Very early Monday morning, Border Patrol agents patrolling an area near Silver Lake and South Pass Road observed a vehicle stopped on the side of the road. Agents saw people moving around the vehicle in the darkness but could not clearly see what was occurring.

Due to their close proximity to the Canadian border, agents stopped the vehicle. During the immigration inspection and search of the truck, 577 pounds of “BC Bud” was discovered in 12 black hockey bags in the truck bed.

The vehicle, driver and narcotics were all turned over to the Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) led Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST).
