Two orphaned young moose from Alaska are making themselves at home at the Greater Vancouver Zoo in Aldergrove.
They came to the zoo in September after being separated from their moms as babies.
The Alaska state government contacted the zoo to see if it was interested in providing a good home for the two males.
The two were quarantined for just over a month.
During this time they have gained approximately 50 kg (110 lbs.) each and now weigh around 160 kg (350 lbs.) each.
They will be introduced to the zoo’s adult female moose when they are large enough. They were born in Anchorage, weighing 15 kg at birth.
They were taken to the conservation centre there and bottle fed.
There it was determined they weren’t good candidates to be released back to the wild.
They can be viewed next to the North American Wild’s bus station.
