Pete Masztalar recognized for community service

The Rotary Club of Aldergrove awarded the 2009 Rotary Vocational Service Award to Peter Masztalar, owner and operator of Fraser Valley Refrigeration in Aldergrove.

The award was presented to Masztalar by Aldergrove Rotarian and veterinarian Dr. Gordon Carnes of Country Grove Veterinary Clinic.

Vocational Service in Rotary stands for service to society through ethical dealings in business with customers, employees, competitors and suppliers. This award has been part of Rotary since the organization was founded.

Fraser Valley Refrigeration has been in business for over 40 years and is located in Aldergrove Industrial Park.

Masztalar's parents, Pete and Mary were among the early pioneers of Aldergrove, arriving here from Poland in 1935 to settle on acreage on Jackman Road. Peter and his wife Sharron (Rempel) raised their three children, Blaine, Dean and Ross, in Aldergrove.

Masztalar and his company were also a major sponsor of the Rotary Club of Aldergrove’s centennial project, the Rotary Field House at Aldergrove Athletic Park, providing heating, ventilation and air conditioning services to the building.
