Jonah Ratsimbazafy, a lemur biologist from Madagascar, visits Mountain View Conservation society on July 9, 7 p.m. for a “Save the Lemurs” lecture.
Jonah is a Malagasy primatologist and teaches at the university in Madagascar’s capital.
He is a true conservation hero for his country. Inspired from a young age to protect lemurs, Dr. Ratsimbazafy is working to ensure not only the conservation of these endearing creatures, but also the recovery of the magnificent rainforest they rely on.
Sharing his results with the local community, and encouraging them to protect their environment with local government, Dr. Ratsimbazafy is a valuable source of information about Madagascar’s wildlife and people.
Mountain View will be hosting a fund-raiser lecture evening with Jonah here at their north Langley conservation and breeding facility. He will share his vast knowledge about lemurs and describe current conservation efforts in Madagascar.
Tickets will be available at the door for $10 and will include a short lemur-only tour narrated by Jonah. There will be a silent auction of art featuring the lemur residents here at Mountain View and other items. All of the funds raised will go to lemur conservation.
