The Seaton Sonics are going to the B.C. Senior AA Boys Soccer Championships starting Monday in Burnaby.

Nathan Lee’s crew face the Valleyview Vikings of Kamloops in the Okanagan Valley final Tuesday afternoon (after press time) at Hillside Stadium in Kamloops. Both teams advance to the B.C. playoffs.

The Sonics, who won the North Zone playdowns, shaded the South Kam Titans 2-1 in an overtime semifinal tilt Tuesday morning.

South Kam went ahead in the 40th minute after a breakdown in the Seaton end between a defender and keeper Jose Hinojosa left an open net.

Seaton levelled the score at 58 minutes after a blistering left-foot cross from the left flank by Liam Glennon led to a header goal by Chris McIntosh on the right side at the top of the 18.

McIntosh fed Glennon, who took an extra second and buried a corker into the back of the net five minutes into overtime.

“Will Oordt-Bosman was a beast on the back end winning just about every ball in the air all match,” said Lee. “Young Cole Grevatt (only Grade 9 on the squad) had a couple of good runs up the side and won a few key balls late in the match. Captain Kenzel Aarts-Roman was his typical steadfast self on the back line.”

The Sonics lost their tournament opener 2-1 in overtime to Valleyview on Monday.

Seaton went up 1-0 at 52 minutes on a beautiful flick on to the top right corner, just off the keeper’s hand, by McIntosh, after a free kick from just inside half from defender Carlos Naranjo.

Valleyview tied things up with 12 minutes to play on a scramble inside the 18 as a ball snuck past Hinojosa. Valleyview converted in the ninth minute of overtime on a break after a nice through ball left Hinojosa with an odd number rush to deal with. He had no chance on the hard low shot to the low left side.

The Kal Lakers lost 5-1 to South Kam and fell 3-2 to Sa-Hali Sabres of Kamloops .
