The White Rock-South Surrey Titans’ bantam football squad battled through the rain and the wind to put on a show for the home fans Sunday at South Surrey Athletic Park, walloping the Victoria Spartans 27-0 in quarter-final playoff action.
The bantams were the only Titans’ side to earn a playoff win on the weekend, as three other teams lost on the road. The atom Titans were bounced from the post-season after a 22-6 loss to the North Delta Longhorns, and the Titans’ junior bantam team was ousted by the Langley Outlaws, 54-0.
The midget Titans travelled to Vancouver Island, losing 22-0 to the Nanaimo Redmen.
The victorious bantams will now advance to Vancouver Mainland Football League semifinals Sunday against the Langley Mustangs. The game kicks off at 2 p.m. at South Surrey Athletic Park.
