Quarterback Denver Sparks-Guest threw for three touchdowns as the Coquitlam Vikings clipped the North Surrey Eagles 18-12 Sunday in a Vancouver Mainland Football League Jr. Bantam contest at Mackin Park.
Sparks-Guest connected with receiver Brad Peters for the winning points late in the game, after having previously hit Nicholas Okamoto and K.J. Johnson for TD strikes.
Key to the win was the stellar pass protection of the Vikes’ offensive line, anchored by Michael Beck, Shaquille Naicker, Saber Yusuf, Nicholas Sorace and Shajan Shirzadi-Ghazvidi.
Defensively, solid efforts were turned in by Theo Landers and Tristan Sands.
In another Jr. Bantam affair, Kyle Deugau scored a pair of majors and Jordan Kennedy and Jake Bye had others as the Coquitlam Raiders rocked the White Rock Titans, 38-6.
• Sean Stewart, Arjay Shelley and Elijah John all hit paydirt as the Coquitlam Wildcats bounced the Vancouver Trojans 24-8 in a Peewee battle.
• Max Kennedy rambled for two touchdowns to spark the Coquitlam Bears to a 36-6 romp over the Langley Broncos in an Atom game.
Tyrese Reed, Jevaun Jacobsen and Nico DePaoli had the Bears’ other touchdown
