The North Okanagan Youth Field Lacrosse Association netted a handful of awards at the British Columbia Lacrosse Association (BCLA) Annual General Meeting recently held in Whistler.

Rob Seaton earned the John Cavallin Merit Award as B.C.’s top field lacrosse coach, while the association collected the Leon Hall Merit Award as the top field lacrosse association.

Amy Drabiuk and Lesley Landels won the Presidents Awards for their tireless dedication, while Doug Macfarlane was a nominee for Executive of the Year, and Ryan Landels was a nominee for Referee of the Year.

Meanwhile, Seaton’s son, Jay, and Bayne Bosquet have joined the Burnaby Mountain Selects high performance lacrosse program.

Seaton, a Fulton student, will play with the Selects’ Sophomore Elites, competing at the Charlotte Fall Classic, which starts Saturday in North Carolina. After that, the Sophomores will visit Baltimore, Md. for the Ultimate Performance Lacrosse Fall Shootout, Nov. 21-22.

Bosquet, a Kalamalka student, will play with the Junior Elite Team at the National Recruiting Fall Ball Festival, Nov. 7-8, followed by the Baltimore tourney.

While on tour, the Selects will have the opportunity to visit top NCAA lacrosse schools.

Both Bosquet and Seaton attended a summer camp at Simon Fraser University and received invites after being identified as top players in their respective age groups. The Vernon duo will commute to the Lower Mainland on weekends.
