Calder leads Tsunami swimmers in Kelowna

Jared Calder of the Kamloops Tsunami Swim Club dominated at the 62nd annual Kelowna Ogopogo Invitational Swim Meet, held June 27 and June 28 in the Lake City.

Calder won all four of his events, breaking three meet records (in the 50-metre freestyle, 50-metre butterfly and 100-metre freestyle) and four club records en route to winning gold aggregate in division 8 boys.

In addition, Alaina Elke won bronze aggregate in division 7 girls while Adam Jensen, swimming in his first meet, placed 10th overall in his division and swam his best time in the 50-metre freestyle (31.08 seconds).

Sarah Boice, competing in division 8 girls, placed second in the 100-metre backstroke, fourth in the 50-metre freestyle, fourth in the 50-metre butterfly and fifth in the 100-metre breaststroke.

The Tsunami swimmers are back in the pool on July 11 and July 12 when they travel to Revelstoke for a meet.
