Pleasant weather made for pleasant golf games

Tuesday was a beautiful cool day  on the Alberni Golf Course today, a bit cooler than it has been, a real treat.

In the nine-hole ladies low handicap group low gross was shared by Claudia Romaniuk and Kathy Toms. Kathy Toms won the low net.  Doreen Grant had the lowest putts of the day.

In the high handicap group, Betty Adair and Audrey Pemberton shared both low gross as well as low net.  Betty Adair had the lowest putts.  Adair had a chip in on  No. 11.

Last Thursday a group of nine-hole ladies went on a road trip and played the Comox Golf Course.

For the 18-hole ladies, it was the first day of the 18-hole club championship, next Tuesday will be the second and last round.

Low Gross was won by Carol Bouchard with an 83,  Shirley Goodman won low net with 67.

The monthly medal winner was Goodman with her 67.

For the KP challenge, Gayle Rhodes won on No. 6 and Carol Hastings won on No. 14.  Shannon Haggard won the special prize.

It was nice to see Rosemary Frankian,  she is here visiting from California.

In the words of Lee Trevino:  There are two things not long for this world—dogs that chase cars and pro golfers who chip for pars.
