Vest golfs down south

Vernon’s Ryan Vest finished up his third round Saturday at the U.S. Kids World Championships in Pinehurst, N.C.

The eight-year-old carded an opening round 42 followed with a 46 Friday to leave him 16 shots behind the leader at the Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club.

Vest, who has his father, Jeff, carrying his bag, entered third-round play in a eight-way share of 65th place.

Vest will head back to the U.S. for the Seaview Open Aug. 30-31, at Seaview Golf Resort in Galloway, N.J.
