The Castlegar U-18 boys soccer team headed into the late June Kootenay South Youth Soccer playoffs with a strong first place finish in the regular season. The final game of the playoffs determining gold and silver was played by Castlegar and Rossland. In an exciting game where both teams played their hardest, the score was tied when the whistle blew. This took the game into overtime which also ended in a tie. The decision finally came down to a shoot-out with Rossland ending up with the gold and Castlegar with silver.
