The New Westminster Salmonbellies' losing streak reached four games Thursday night.

The Nanaimo Timbermen downed the ’Bellies 11-9 at Queen's Park Arena to drop New West's Western Lacrosse Association record to 2-5-0. The Timbermen jumped over the Salmonbellies into fifth place with a 2-5-1 record.

A four-goal outburst in less than three minutes late in the third period by Nanaimo proved to be New West's undoing as it gave the T-Men a 10-6 lead. New Westminster scored three in the last four minutes but it was too late.

The Salmonbellies leading scorer Jordan McBride scored three goals and assisted on two others to give him 27 points (13-14). Martin Cummings scored twice for the ’Bellies with singles going to Logan Schuss, Tyler Crompton, Richard Lachlan and Matt MacKenzie.

The T-Men outshot the ’Bellies 51-46 with Neil Tyacke making 40 saves in the New West net.

The Salmonbellies hit the road for three games starting in Victoria against the first-place Shamrocks (6-0-1) Friday. They'll be in Langley to play the Thunder (4-5-) on Wednesday before taking on the Burnaby Lakers (4-3-0) at Bill Copeland Arena (7:45 p.m.) next Friday.

New West's next home game is against the Coquitlam Adanacs on Thursday, July 3 (7:45 p.m.).
