Norm Jackson and Gavin Hollebakken made a dynamite combination in the TaylorMade & Adidas Golf Tournament of Champions at the University Golf Club in Vancouver.

Cowichan Golf and Country Club pro Jackson and club member Hollebakken joined forces for a 68 that left them tied for fourth place in the field and earned them $550. The tournament featured club pros and amateurs on teams.

Jackson and Hollebakken were only five shots off the pace of the winners — Jason Giesbrecht and Kevin Carrigan of Royal Colwood.

Jackson gave all the credit to Hollebakken. "He is a great young man,'' Jackson indicated.

Hollebakken's golf game has been steadily improving, considering he only started playing competitively in 2012 and just graduated from high school last year.

Jackson is simply still a solid player after many years in the game.
