Proteau wins North Island's again

Christina Proteau of Port Alberni successfully defended her low gross title at the Ladies’ North Island Golf Tournament on Mother’s Day.

Proteau won the Mildred Laver Trophy for Low Gross with a solid 74 and Comox’s Carmen deWinter drank out of the Low Net Cup for a second year in a row with a score of 65, defeating her next opponent by seven shots.

The Archie Dick Trophy for Low Net Team was won by Mary Buchanan, Carmen de Winter, Fran Robinson and Maggie Miller.

Sixty women teed off in the Ladies’ North Island this year.
