Swimming: TRAX coach selected for Prospects Camp

Coach Bill Park of the Trail Regional Aquatic Excellence (TRAX) program, formerly known as the Trail Winter Swim Club, was selected by Swim BC to represent the province at the Prospects West Training Camp earlier this month in Saskatoon, Sask.

TRAX competitive swimmers have scored well at both provincial AA and AAA championships this season. Coaches were selected based on the highest FINA point-scoring swim in each age group and gender.

Coach Park is excited to assist Swim BC with promoting long term athlete development and excellence in the sport of competitive swimming. He is a technical expert that ensures his swimmers are safe and swim well first before developing them to swim fast.

“The swimmers we coach learn proper fundamental skill sets in our quality academy competitive swim program and represent this community all over the Province,” said Park in a press release. “Currently we have many of our youth swimmers being named to the B.C. Summer Games competitive swimming prospects list for our zone and only those registered with Swim BC are eligible for that honor this coming July.”

TRAX coaches are always interested in sharing their expertise and are excited to learn new advanced ways to assist the talented youth in this sport by attending camps such as the Prospects West.
