Swedish goalie Jacob Markstrom was the world's highest touted puck-stopping prospect two years ago, but has stalled to start in the NHL.

Hockey folks know our newest Canucks, goalie Jacob Markstrom and forward Shawn Matthias, who come to Vancouver from Florida via the Roberto Luongo trade.

Most know them from their respective World Junior hockey championships, with Matthias scoring the gold medal-winning OT goal in 2008. And Markstrom faced Canada in the gold medal game the next year, 2009, when he was beaten by a red-and-white team led by John Tavares, Cody Hodgson, P.K. Subban, and Jordan Eberle.

Both are still relatively young, both have been inconsistent, but both come with promise. And they're both excited to join the Vancouver Canucks:
