Rockets sweep Giants for record-tying 52nd win

The Kelowna Rockets equaled a franchise record with their 52nd win of the WHL season on Saturday night, beating the Vancouver Giants 3-1 at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver.

Goaltender Jordon Cooke was named the game's first star, stopping 32 of 33 Vancouver shots, and the Rockets scored three unanswered goals to come back for the win.

The victory improved Kelowna's record to 52-9-0-4 on the season, the same number of wins the team had last season with seven games still remaining in the season

In his return to Vancouver, where he played parts of his first two WHL seasons, Marek Tvrdon scored to extend his point streak to seven games. Rourke Chartier and Cole Linaker also scored for the Rockets.

Kelowna continues its busy schedule this week as it will head to Everett for a road game against the Silvertips on Tuesday before returning to Kelowna to play Wednesday against the Spokane Chiefs.
