Adrenaline take TORL Cup

Rocstar Drywall U16A Adrenaline Rush won the TORL Cup with three playoff wins.

The Rush ambushed Kelowna 6-0 Saturday behind goals from Alex Drury, Katelyn Paulin, Maddy Percy, Caleb Pope, Hannah Popilchak, and Maddie Powls.

On Sunday morning, Vernon iced Westsyde  7-1 with Ostafie and Pope each supplying two goals, and then stopped Kelowna 3-1 for the title with Ostafie bagging a deuce and Taigan Radomske earning a single. Garrett Adams was in top form between the posts all weekend.

The Rush advance to provincials in Prince George in two weeks, where they hope to strike gold for the third straight year.

The U14A Rush took silver in the TORL Cup, defeating Westside 9-2 in between losing 6-3 and 6-5 to Kelowna.

Courtney Bacon (2), Alyssa Racine, Kalen Webster and Emma Carter scored in the 6-5 playoff loss, while Bacon (3), Racine (2), Aly Carter (1+3), Abby Williamson and Emma Carter scored in the win.

Bacon and the Carter sisters had goals in the 6-3 loss.

The red-hot Vernon Ice Rockets blasted their way to another ringette victory, dismantling Kelowna #1 14-4.

Hillary Quiring, Aimee Skinner and McKenna Jackson led the Ice Rockets offence with three goals each. Kristen Francks and Kennedy (Ringer) Jackson had two goals apiece while Victoria Schutz rounded out the scoring.

Jordan Tung and rookie Caryss Hill each had an assist.

The team worked well together to set up Kylie Sheldrake and Hill, who had numerous shots on net.

Alecia Hughes and Brooklyn Tardiff fought hard in between the blue lines in support of goalie Katrina Winstanley.

Vernon Advertising Work Victory scored a 10-7 U12 league win Saturday against West Kelowna.

Jaden Scott and Kenzie Kosure had three goals each for the Victory, Tristan Dewitt added a deuce while singles went to Grace Cornell and Kristin Ho.

Vernon DCT Chambers Roar lost a hard-fought 5-4 Petite Division battle to Kelowna Saturday.

Julie Francis scored twice for the Roar while Emma Lochhead and Georgia Lannon also found the back of the net.

Ashly Shwaluk chipped in two assists while call-up McKenna Jackson added one.

Great hustle was shown by Sierra Lochhead and another call-up, Hillary Quiring. Chayse Krause and Mackenzie Gilman all provided strong defence while Brooklyn Ashby was outstanding for the Roar in net.

The Vernon Novice B squad fell 8-2 to Shuswap A Saturday. Astrid Beatty and Rhys Taylor-Hawes, assisted by Amelia Johnson, scored.
