Kerry Park Islanders were held to one goal in two weekend Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League games.

The Islanders were shut out 3-0 Friday night at the Panorama Recreation Centre in Sidney by the Peninsula Panthers. One of the Panthers' goals was scored by former Islander Tylor Branzsen, who was dealt at the trade deadline.

The Islanders managed just 17 shots on goal.

The high-flying Campbell River Storm came into Kerry Park Arena Saturday night and beat the Islanders 6-1.

The Islanders didn't break a long scoreless drought until 16:52 of the third period when Matt Osmond beat Storm netminder Jack Surgenor.

The Islanders play at Saanich Friday against the Braves and then switch to Cowichan Arena in Duncan Saturday for a game against the Westshore Wolves at 3:30 p.m., with Kerry Park Arena unavailable due to the Island regional figure skating competition.
