Summerland rink head to senior curling championship

The field is set for the 2014 Tim Hortons B.C. Senior Curling Championships Feb. 17-23.

Eight senior men’s and women’s teams from across the province will meet at the Comox Valley Curling Club to determine who will go to Yellowknife.

Teams from Kelowna, Elkford, Smithers, Vancouver, Langley, White Rock, Victoria and Campbell River will compete in the men’s championship. Teams from Castlegar, Tsawwassen, Langley, New Westminster, Chilliwack, Parksville, Nanaimo and Summerland will compete in the women’s championship.

Summerland's team is comprised of skip Lil Blashko, third Cindy Curtain of Penticton, second Sylvia Low of Oliver, lead Tammy Brennan of Summerland and fifth Diane Tetreault of Oliver.

A senior men’s winner and women’s winner will travel to Yellowknife from Mar. 20-30, 2014, for nationals.
