A Tri-City gymnast is among the nominees for B.C. athlete of the year.

Port Coquitlam’s Kyle Carragher is a finalist for the male junior athlete of the year.

Sport BC will recognize the athlete of the year winners at the 48th annual awards set for March 5 in Vancouver.

Carragher won two medals at last year’s world age group trampoline and tumbling championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. The 16-year-old won silver in double mini and picked up a bronze in tumbling.
