Six players from the Abbotsford Maguson Ford United men's soccer team were picked to represent the Fraser Valley Soccer League in an all-star game earlier this month in Victoria.

The local content included defenders Sahib Phagura and Ravi Singh; midfielders Colton O'Neill, Connor O'Neill and Robbie Fadden; and striker Justin Sekhon. The all-star game ended 2-2 after regulation, and the Fraser Valley side claimed the win via penalty kicks.

The AMFU squad is the defending Pakenham Cup and SoccerCity Cup champions.

The Eugene Reimer Ravens Grade 8 boys basketball team finished second at the Hansen Classic tournament last weekend.

The Ravens knocked off Heritage Park, L.A. Matheson, Westview and Kitsilano en route to the final, where they fell to Notre Dame. Sukhminder Kang and Karn Minhas were named to the tourney all-star team.

Dylan Manocha, a running back from Rick Hansen Secondary, has been named to B.C.’s under-15 team for next month’s USA Football International Bowl.

The team will be heading to Dallas, Tex. from Feb. 5-7. They will play a mini-game tournament at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, on Feb. 5, and will play a team of U.S. Grade 9 players two days later at the University of Texas-Arlington.
