Crosstown grudge match set for Jan. 15

The Delta Pacers and South Delta Sun Devils senior boys’ basketball teams are gearing up for their fourth annual crosstown matchup, the Stebbings-Murray Cup, this Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Organizer Lewis Spencer says the game is one of the local highlights of the AAA basketball season.

“They look forward to this one all season.”

The Delta Secondary Pacers downed their South Delta rivals 75-45 in last year’s game, giving DSS the 2-1 edge in their third meeting at the Stebbings-Murray Cup.

The Stebbings-Murray Cup is named for former Sun Devils coach Bob Stebbings and former Pacers coach Neil Murray.

This year’s game takes place at Delta Secondary School on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m.
