The Christmas break for the Penticton Mighty Minions was highlighted by a tournament win.

The Minions were a perfect 5-0 after they defeated Seafair 7-6 for the championship.

Coach Tony Orioli described it as a back and forth affair. Seafair tied the game with a minute remaining. The teams appeared to head into overtime when Ian Heck got the puck in front of the net and his shot beat the goalie high on the glove hand side with 38 seconds left.

Marcus Stewart was named most valuable player for his excellent defensive. The sportsmanship award went to Hunter MacFadden.

The Mighty Minions opened the tournament with a 2-0 win against Semiahmoo team 4. Orioli earned the shutout, while Thomas Caruso scored the winner. Their second game, a 9-4 win against Semiahmoo team 1, Orioli scored four goals. Heck scored three goals against North Delta in an 8-2 win. The Minions then faced the Langley Warriors in the semifinal and won 4-2.

Kai Espenhain was named tournament MVP for his excellent play offensively and defensively.
