The West Kelowna Warriors are hitting the Christmas break on a festive note after sweeping back-to-back games from one of their biggest BCHL rivals.

Andy Desautels turned away 21 shots for his second shutout of the season Saturday at Royal LePage Place as the Warriors completed a weekend sweep of the Vees with a 4-0 win.

The win, coming after Friday's 3-1 win in Penticton, marked the first time in six years the Warriors have beaten the Vees in consecutive games.

"We need the wins right now, it doesn't matter who they're against," said Warriors coach Rylan Ferster. "It's nice to get the points after the little skid we went on in November."

The Warriors head into the Christmas break winners of two in a row and five of their last six. They are third in the Interior Division, a point up on Merritt and four back of second place Vernon.

The team returns from the Christmas break Dec. 30 in Trail. Their next home game is Jan. 4 against the Smoke Eaters.
