Mount Doug swimmers set 200m record, 'outside smoke' flies to bronze

Mount Douglas secondary school held a celebration of champions on Monday as it honoured the Rams senior football team for its third straight B.C. AAA championship and the school’s swim team, which won five medals at provincials, Nov. 15 to 16.

The swim team’s 200-metre medley relay foursome of Lauren Crisp, Hanna Carter, Vicky Mock and Rosie Moulton set a new provincial record. Moulton doubled with gold in the 200 individual medley and won bronze in the 100 breaststroke. Crisp scored bronze in the 100 backstroke. Emily Ding swam to gold in the 100-metre freestyle and surprised with a bronze in the 50-m fly from the “outside smoke” lane seven, usually a slower lane, said coach Shona Lindsay.
