VIDEO: Vancouver Canucks blow Maple Leafs back to Toronto with a 4-0 shutout
Same Bat time, same Bat channel.
The Canucks and all their Vancouver faithful once again had to reset their Saturday to fit with Hockey Night in Canada's Saturday schedule, and the whales once again pushed the Maple Leafs over without much of a fight.
4-0 was the final. 47-21 were the shots. The Canucks controlled the puck and the body, drawing nine penalties and sucking the life out of a Leafs squad that entered the weekend with a chance to take sole possession of the Atlantic Division.
Vancouver's top line of Henrik and Daniel Sedin and Ryan Kesler wreaked havoc in Toronto's end all night long and the Canucks registered 11 shots on goal before the Leafs put any Luongo's way. Goalie James Reimer's toe save on Alex Burrows was the highlight of the first period until Henrik's one-timer on the powerplay banked off Daniel's sweater and in.
Zack Kassian, Chris Higgins, and Dan Hamhuis added goals in the second and third periods, and Luongo finished with 21 saves in the shutout.
