Chilliwack gymnast grabs gold

Abbotsford’s Twisters Gymnastics Club produced more medalists than any other club at the B.C. Gymnastics Championships, held last weekend in Prince George.

Twister athletes won 24 gold, 21 silver and 17 bronze, with Chilliwack nativers Zachary Clay and Ella Palmer helping the medal haul.

Clay competed in the high performance senior division, winning gold on pommel horse and vault.

Palmer competed in level three argo, taking gold on the floor, silver on vault and bronze all-around.

Clay was among nine Twisters qualifying for the Canadian National Championships, which will be held in Ottawa next month.
