Midgets play big in Alberni
Port Alberni’s Midget Bulldogs are 2-1 so far at the Tier Three tournament being played in Port Alberni this week.
The Bulldogs opened with a 7-2 victory against Langley on Sunday. The Bulldogs lead 2-1 after the first period and were up 5-1 in the second before taking the game 7-2.
The Bulldogs hit a speedbump on Monday when the lost 3-1 to the Smithers Storm. The game was tied 1-1 after the second period then Smithers scored two unanswered goals in the third to take the game.
The Dawson Creek Canucks were Alberni’s next opponent, and they beat them 7-1. Alberni lead in all three periods, scoring three goals in the second period.
Next up for the Bulldogs is a game on Wednesday against Merrit, who lost 5-1 against Smithers.
