Warriors rip out to 1-0 series lead over Merritt

The West Kelowna Warriors jumped out to a 1-0 series lead on Merritt in the opening round of the BCHL playoffs.
Marcus Basara scored twice in front of 973 fans at Royal LePage Place in West Kelowna as the Warriors struck first in the best of seven series.
Max French, Josh Monk, Matt Anholt, Brennan Clark and Ambrose Firkus also scored for the Warriors.
Merritt outshot West Kelowna 36-34 but goalie Tyler Briggs was excellent in net for the Warriors.
Game two is tonight at RLP in West Kelowna.
