Rockets tie club record with 51st win of season in Vancouver

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Vancouver Giants 6-2 on Friday night in Vancouver, tying a franchise record for wins with one game left in the season.

Six different Rockets hit the scoresheet in the win, including rookie Austin Glover, who scored his first career WHL goal.

Colton Sissons, Rourke Chartier, Damon Severson, Tyson Baillie and Zach Franko also scored for Kelowna, which improved to 51-16-3-1 on the season.

The win not only tied the club record for wins, it also pulled the Rockets into a tie with Edmonton for second place overall in the WHL with 106 points with each team having a game remaining.

Kelowna and Vancouver play Saturday at Prospera Place to close out the WHL regular season.

It's Pepsi Fill the Truck For the Food Bank night at Prospera as fans are asked to bring a non perishable food item to the game.

Tickets are also available for the WHL playoffs, which begin March 22 and 23 at Prospera Place.
