WRCA advances with overtime win over Mouat
Another day, another overtime win.
For the second consecutive game, the White Rock Christian Academy Warriors needed overtime to advance at BC Boys AAA Basketball Championships, beating Abbotsford's W.J. Mouat Hawks 72-69 Thursday at the Langley Events Centre.
The win pushed WRCA through to the Final Four, which begins today (Friday).
In one semifinal, White Rock Christian will face Kitsilano, while Walnut Grove and St. George's will play in the other.
The finals are set for 8 p.m. Saturday.
Thursday's game between the Warriors and Hawks was a back-and-forth affair, with eight lead changes and ties at four different points.
White Rock had a five-point lead in the game's final minute, but after Mouat closed the lead to just three, Corey Hauck knocked down a three-pointer to tie the game with 0.9 seconds left on the clock.
In overtime, neither team scored for the first two minutes, but WRCA managed to score six points, to Mouat's three, to escape with the win.

Hauck was the Hawks' leading scorer, with 27.
