The Saint Mary’s Huskies are making good use of a former Castlegar, B.C. resident.
Huskies forward Lucas Bloodoff is this season’s MVP in Atlantic University Sport (AUS) hockey.
Bloodoff, a third-year forward, topped the league in scoring this season with 38 points in 28 games. He was also selected to the AUS first all-star team.
Bloodoff has been in Halifax for the last three years and is studying business.
“Lucas is a natural leader who brings the most out in his teammates and those around him,” said coach Trevor Stienburg in a release. “The expectations on Lucas have been extremely high and he has delivered on those expectations.”
Bloodoff and Stienburg helped lead Saint Mary’s to the second seed in the Atlantic conference playoffs and the No. 4 Canadian Interuniversity Sport ranking.
