Ramblers girls finish fourth in the province
The Maple Ridge Ramblers finished fourth in the province at the girls triple A basketball championship, as they lost the bronze medal game in heartbreaking style in the Saturday afternoon tilt at the Langley Events Centre.
Leading 36-20 at one point, they allowed the Oak Bay Breakers to come back on them, the Victoria-area school going up for the first time in the final two minutes of the game, and stealing the contest 53-50.
Kolbie Orum had 28 points and 12 rebounds in the medal game to lead the Ramblers, while Devan Cousins had nine points and seven boards.
The Ramblers lost 63-49 to the Brookswood Bobcats (Langley) in Friday night's semi-fiinal, the 'Cats exacting a measure of revenge for the Ramblers upsetting them in the Fraser Valley championship.
The Bobcats limited Orum's touches on the ball after she had torched them for 40 points in the Valleys. They held her to a season-low 15 points.
