Castlegar Rebels take 2 -1 series lead against Nitehawks
The Castlegar Rebels pulled into a 2 - 1 series lead against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks on Thurs. March 7 in Fruitvale, B.C.
At the end of 60 minutes in game three of KIJHL second-round playoff action, the scoreboard showed the same numbers.
Erik Alden and Jamie Vlanich scored the goals for the Rebels about nine minutes apart in the second period.
Assists went to Diego Bartlett (who was also named first star), Jamie Vlanich and Brenden Heinrich.
Beaver Valley had it's lone goal on the power play less than two minutes into the same period. Ryan Edwards put the Nitehawks on the board assisted by Dallas Calvin and Danny Vlanich.
The Nitehawks narrowly outshot the Rebels 29 - 27.
The Rebels power play was shut down on all five opportunities they had.
Jordan Gluck got the win in net for Castlegar and also received the game's third star.
