Gowanlock sets the pace for Cowichan boys in rugby opener
The Cowichan Secondary School senior boys’ rugby team started its season with the McGeachy Boot game against Ladysmith during the Joe McGeachy memorial rugby tournament.
The First XV Cowichan boys proved to be more physical than Ladysmith.
However, Ladysmith displayed superior skill and decision-making against Cowichan’s Second XV boys.
Brock Gowanlock was deemed to be the most prominent performer in the organized practice.
The boys then went straight into the official start of their season with home games against Mount Douglas and Vanier.
Cowichan hosts Frances Kelsey next Thursday, March 14.
