Cal girls are off to Zones in Kamloops
And it's another zone win for Terrace basketball teams.
After a close Girls AA Basketball Zone Championship tournament here in Terrace Feb. 22 and 23, Caledonia will be heading to Kamloops this coming Monday to compete in the AA Girls provincial championships.
The girls had a stand-out season, travelling to Williams Lake, Vernon, Prince George and other northwest towns throughout the regular season.
But it all came down to a thrilling final against Smithers Secondary at Zones here in Terrace, that saw Cal win by a slim margin – 42-40, to win the rights to represent the Northwest zone at next week's tournament.
Earlier in the tournament Cal knocked out Charles Hays from Prince Rupert, the third team competing for the zone title, in another close match.
