Rockets clip T'Birds for 3rd straight win

The Kelowna Rockets moved a step closer to clinching the B.C. Division crown with a  4-1 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds Thursday in WHL action at Prospera Place.

The Rockets (45-15-3-1) now lead the Kamloops Blazers by seven points for top spot. Each team has eight games remaining, including three against each other.

Dylen McKinlay scored twice for the Rockets, including his team-leading sixth shorthanded marker of the season midway in the second period.

Myles Bell, with his club-leading 35th of the season, and Tyson Baillie, with an empty net marker also scored for the Rockets who won their third straight game.

Seth Swenson scored the lone goal for Seattle, spoiling Jordon Cooke's shutout bid at 7:20 of the third period.

The Rockets will host Lethbridge Saturday, before travelling to Kamloops to take on the Blazers on Sunday.
