Braves bruised in game two

8-1-goal.jpg

A long opening round series between the first seeded Castlegar Rebels and the Spokane Braves appears quite unlikely after the guests were abused Saturday night at the Castlegar Community Complex.

Complementing a 6-0 win on Friday night the Rebels drubbed their southern rivals 12-1 Saturday.

Featured prominently in the goal parade was Bryan Lubin with a hat-trick along with Stuart Walton and Cody Disher each with a pair.

The Braves will hope to manufacture something positive as the series now shifts to Spokane for games three and four on Monday and Tuesday.

In related action the Beaver Valley Nitehawks fought back to even their series with the Nelson Leafs in Fruitvale. The final score was 5-3 for the hosts.
